Open Days & Times*:
Our Museum at Glyn Ceiriog is open to the public from February to mid-December on Saturdays, Bank Holiday Mondays and on other days that we publicise.
Open times are 10am to 4pm (March to October) and 10am to 3pm (November, December, February).
Open days and times may be affected by the weather, the availability of volunteers and other constraints. Please check our Facebook Page for any late changes.
Entrance to the Museum is FREE. Donations are invited.
The GVT waiting room at Pontfadog and the GVT coal wharf at Glyn Ceiriog are open to visitors on special event days as advertised or by prior arrangement.
Parking & Access:
On-site parking, impaired mobility access and toilet facilities are available.
Refreshments:
Refreshments and light lunches are available at the nearby Yr Hedyn Mwstard - Community Cafe, situated next door but one on New Road, Glyn Ceiriog.

From Chirk, proceed by road on the B4500 signposted to Glyn Ceiriog.
Pass by the Chirk Trout Fisheries on your left and continue on the B4500 through the hamlets of Pontfadog and Dolywern. This is the same route as taken by the former Glyn Valley Tramway.
On the final approach into the centre of Glyn Ceiriog village, the Museum entrance is signposted on the left hand side, adjacent to the jib crane.
Public Transport:
National Rail - Chirk Railway Station (6¼ miles from our Museum at Glyn Ceiriog) is on the national rail route between Shrewsbury and Chester. Visit the National Rail website for information on getting to Chirk by rail.
Local Bus - A number 64 bus service operates between Llangollen and Llanarmon DC and serves Chirk Railway Station, Pontfadog, Dolywern and Glyn Ceiriog in between. Services run Monday to Saturday (but not on Bank Holidays other than Good Fridays). Visit the Tanat Valley Coaches website to download the current timetable.
Glyn Valley Tramway at Chirk:
When you are in the vicinity, also take the opportunity to visit adjacent to the National Rail station at Chirk where the similarly named but separate charity organisation Glyn Valley Tramway Trust is in the process of:
rebuilding the former Glyn Valley Tramway's Chirk station platform and a replica waiting room, and
creating a new narrow gauge railway which will make use of the former GVT trackbed from Chirk Station to Pontfaen, a distance of about 1 mile.
