• 1870: 'Glyn Valley Tramway Act' passed by Parliament

• 1873: Glyn Valley Tramway (GVT) opens for mineral traffic, horse drawn, Glyn Ceiriog to Gledrid Wharf via Pontfaen

• 1874: GVT passenger service commences, horse drawn, Glyn Ceiriog to Pontfaen only

• 1885: New 'Glyn Valley Tramway Act' passed by Parliament

• 1886: GVT passenger service suspended

• 1886-90: Track relaid for steam locomotives, new line laid Pontfaen to Chirk, new mineral line laid Glyn Ceiriog to Hendre Quarry

• 1888: Locomotive No.1 'SIR THEODORE' delivered

• 1889: Locomotive No.2 'DENNIS' delivered

• 1890: Original GVT horse tramway from Pontfaen to Gledrid Wharf abandoned and lifted

• 1891: GVT passenger service recommences, Glyn Ceiriog to Chirk

• 1892: Locomotive No.3 'GLYN' delivered

• 1921: Ex-WDLR Baldwin locomotive delivered

• 1932: Competing motor bus service introduced 

• 1933: GVT passenger service withdrawn

• 1935: GVT closes completely

• 1936: GVT voluntary liquidation with assets sold off and locomotives scrapped 

• 1974: Glyn Valley Tramway Group forms

• 1979: GVT Group establishes historical photograph and artefact display room in local hotel 

• 1989: GVT Group acquires Pontfadog Waiting Room for preservation

• 2003: GVT Group forms and registers a new limited share company - Glyn Valley Tramway Company Ltd - to acquire freehold of former GVT Coal Wharf and trackbed in Glyn Ceiriog

• 2009: GVT Group forms and registers a new charitable-purpose limited guarantee company - The New Glyn Valley Tramway & Industrial Heritage Trust

• 2010: GVT Group dissolves after transfering its assets and goodwill to new Heritage Trust

• 2010: Heritage Trust leases former GVT Engine Shed and station yard in Glyn Ceiriog for development as museum visitor centre

• 2014-16: Heritage Trust restores former GVT Engine Shed and station yard

• 2017: Heritage Trust opens Glyn Valley Tramway & Industrial Heritage Museum in Glyn Ceiriog

• 2020: Heritage Trust acquires Ruston & Hornsby LBT locomotive and three flat wagons to use in station yard

• 2020: Heritage Trust acquires freehold of former GVT Engine Shed and station yard in Glyn Ceiriog

• 2023: Original GVT Jib Crane re-assembled and erected in station yard  

• 2023-25: Heritage Trust lays demonstration track in station yard

• 2026: Heritage Trust rebuilds section of former GVT station platform in Glyn Ceiriog
