Modelling the GVT:
The Glyn Valley Tramway has been a popular narrow gauge railway modelling subject since the 1960s, predominantly in 4mm and 7mm to 1ft scales, running on 9mm and 16.5mm gauge track respectively.
In more recent years, 2mm (micro-modelling) and 16mm (garden railway modelling or model engineering) have joined the scales used.
Our Museum at Glyn Ceiriog has a selection of models on display as part of our interpretation of the history and heritage of the Glyn Valley Tramway.
Our library and records archive provides an invaluable resource for historians, enthusiasts and modellers of the Glyn Valley Tramway for on-site research.
Whilst we don't ourselves offer models for sale, we highlight below the broad range of GVT models that have been or are being produced commercially as kits, ready-to-paint, fully finished or (in the case of locomotives and rolling stock) ready-to-run in the most popular British narrow gauge railway modelling scale: 4mm to 1ft, also known as 00-9.
